Foundation hosts Alumni & Friend Tournament
The Harrisonville Public School Foundation raised approximately $6,000 at its recent Alumni and Friends Golf Tournament. The tournament was part of the Homecoming festivities for Harrisonville High School .
The Foundation will use the monies raised to fund its programming including teacher grants, the Advanced Degree Teacher Initiative, and scholarships. This fall the Foundation will present over $2,500 through its Advanced Degree Teacher Initiative which reimburses district teachers for Master's degree coursework and nearly $3,000 in teacher grants. In June, the Foundation awarded $10,000 in scholarships to four-year Excellence in Academics recipients at HHS.
The winning four-some was sponsored by Dr. Shaun Holden and included Ruben Carter, Jon Miciano, Brian Riffle, and RZ Sims. The team shot nineteen-under par at Hoots Hollow at Country Creek Golf Course.
In the B Flight the team sponsored by AOS won and included David Vignery, Doug Hanshaw, Mike Strain, and Craig Watason.
Winning the PowerGroup Closest to the Pin contest was Meghan Moore. The Fogel-Anderson/Hollis+Miller Women's Longest Drive winner was Meghan Moore and the Cass Medical Center Men's Longest Driver winner was Matt Brown.
Twenty-one teams competed in the four-man scramble tournament on Friday, September 26.
The True Wildcat event sponsor was Wal-Mart SuperCenter. Royal Blue tournament sponsors were Cass Medical Center, Dr. Shaun Holden, Fogel-Anderson/Hollis+Miller, and PowerGroup. The drink cart sponsor was American Heritage Realty.
